The puzzles of this game were a nice surprise, and the "scale" aspect feels nicely integrated into the game. Nice job!

Really well done! Interesting puzzler!

Nice game

Also really appreciate if you check my game

Really fun concept with a polished feel, usually you see these types of games as pvp, nice twist to have it more as a puzzle game, only main note i have is that the level complete sound jumpscared me the first time xd

Developer

Thanks for the review! And yeah I realized that after submitting the game haha. All the sounds are super peaceful and then you get a trumpet blasted in your ear at the end lol

Really enjoyed your game as well! Super creative!

Really fun game!! I've loved all the cell/organelle/body games made in this jam and this one is super cool. Had to really use my brain to get past the germs

Developer(+1)

Thanks you!! Really enjoyed your game as well :)

I want more levels !!! This game is so underrated... Seriously it was so cool, presentation is top notch, I looove the animations, I love the feeling when you pass through the membranes, the mix between puzzle and "pacman" is so well done, I already said it but I say it again: I want more! :) Really really nice job! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! Really appreciate you giving it a look. Thought your game was awesome as well!!

Amazing game! Love the tiny little details on the movement of the cell membrane when it interacts with the walls and when it absorbs other cells! Also love the inspiration from PacMan, hoping to see an update someday where we could attack the bacteria!

Developer (1 edit)

Haha yeah I think that is a good idea to steal from Pacman. Was thinking there could be special power-up molecules and one of them would let you eat the bacteria

Thanks for the feedback!

I liked the almost puzzle nature of this game.
I was expecting a more frantic experience, since the game is presented as a retro arcade, but the atmosphere is relaxing and gives you space to think.
Thank you for this game!

Developer(+1)

Haha yeah the game is a bit confused about it's genre. I should probably change the tag line to make it clear that it is mostly a puzzle game

Thanks for the feedback!

Clever concept and one of those games that just felt good to play. Surprising but welcomed difficulty, would definitely love to see more content in the future!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game! wish there were more levels! great job!

Submitted(+1)

Great game! I like how the jelly physics work! :D

I think it's mainly a puzzle game? Here's some of my thoughts:

- There could be a number on each of these membranes indicating the maximum allowed size

- I think those bacteria didn't really contribute the the puzzle experience..? Maybe it's better to remove them

Developer

Thank you!! Really good feedback.

Love the idea to put a number on the membranes to indicate the max size allowed. Right now you kind of have to figure that out through trial and error.

And yeah it's like 80% puzzler and 20% arcade game haha. It's kind of fun to try to speed run the level with the enemies. But yeah otherwise you kinda just wait for them to be out of the way. Could see getting rid of them.

Beautiful Game man!. Was absolutely hooked!!!

Submitted(+1)

Woah! Cool concept, I really like the softbody on the cell you play as. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

So nicely done, and very chill!  Fantastic presentation, and there is a lot of scope for new levels.  One weird thing - I got stuck in the tutorial - wedged in the last small membrane near the bacteria - I couldn't go forward or back.  I was too big to pass, but it somehow wouldn't let me go back.

Developer

Glad you liked it!

Yeah that is a known bug haha. The membranes apply a bunch of linear drag so it is harder to move. It is suppose to give the feeling that you are pushing through something, but it also causes the player to get stuck in rare cases

Amazing game! It feels like a pac man puzzle solver, I love it! I would definitely enjoy some more complex levels to try and conquer but the game is very satisfying and calming to play, Great concept!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for the review!

And yeah really wish I budgeted more time for levels haha

Submitted(+2)

I love the concept and how fluid everything feels. I really like the way the level design punishes you for getting every molecule you see, making you get stuck in tight spaces; it's like it is telling you to be mindful about when and how you need to grow. I don't think the levels are that hard, instead you just need to try new things until you find a good route. However, I also think that a couple of build-up levels would be great.

The art style is very clear and charismatic. Somehow the cells and the bacteria look cute and funny.

Nice work!

Developer(+1)

That's awesome! Glad ppl are understanding the concept and not finding it too challenging.

Wish I had more time to make a couple more levels and maybe add another mechanic or two to spice it up.

Thanks for the review!!

Great concept!

The animation is very fluid and enjoyable, I felt calm and serene floating around as a cell. I felt as though the bacteria added an extra layer of difficulty on top of the already challenging puzzle element so when you die to bacteria it takes longer to do the puzzle. This is great but could do with some build up levels to get used to it!  The level complete sound is very loud. Overall the design is stunning and I'd love to see more of this game :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the feel of it. I definitely spent way too much time on that and not enough time on level-design.

This was my first game jam so I expected a lot worse haha

Submitted(+1)

Very nice squishing animation or physics stuff. Looks and feels great! Levels are too tough though xD. I understand the concept but I couldn't pass both the levels xD Might try again sometime later in the hope to win xD.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! And yeah the levels are for sure too tough. I literally just had the tutorial and Level 2 built and then with 2 hours left I scrambled to make Level 1 lol

A couple tips that might help:

- You want to split yourself in safe areas, then go collect 2 molecules, then return, recombine, and split again. You can basically keep doing this over and over again to some degree

- Once you hit size 12 you can split all the way down to 3. You can leave the other 3 and 6 in a safe area and they will combine

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for the tip/hint. I got through both the levels after this. Though the 2nd level took me quite a lot of time. It's really fun to play! A lot of clever and interesting designs/levels can be made.
Very funny how I got stuck because of my size here and had to split and sneak away :) Totally loved this game!

Developer (1 edit)

That's awesome! Thanks for giving it another try! I was starting to get worried no one would complete the levels

I also posted the same tips in the description so hopefully it helps more ppl

Submitted(+1)

Love the chunky litte cells! Polished and pretty! My only feedback would be to add some easier smaller levels in the beginning to ramp up the difficulty a tad slower. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! And 100% agree on the levels being too difficult. I basically spent 3 days on the physics sim and 1 day on level design and polish lol

Submitted(+1)

Well you nailed the physics! :)

Submitted(+1)

Great concept and very beautiful!
