Love the juice in this one! Nicely executed and fits the theme really well!
Love the gameplay and art, but really wished there were more SFX as you catch the fish! Having them in the fish weighing portion was nice, but feels less important compared to having SFX for the main gameplay loop.
Thanks for playing. I agree, I never prioritise the sfx. Next year my game will be sounds only, no visulas!
I had fun catching fish, the tutorial was a bit fast and the game could use a couple more fish variants but over all was a fun quick game!
I love the idea of getting bigger fish to get bigger fish as a theme. Really solid idea! Lovely charming game, well done!
I love this idea! Some extra fish sprites would make this game complete!
Thanks! I even left a big space on the sprite sheet for them, just ran out of time unfortunately.
Such a neat idea for the theme. The UI feels so nice and polished!
Really fun game and beautiful visuals, great job!
Really addictive arcade game! The only game so far I played over and over again (I don't know how many times)
Those are some heavy fish! Great art style and fun gameplay. I finally made it past 2K after a few runs. Congrats!
This title shows what gameplay is about.
And the game discuss it deeper.
Thank you for making this!
11952 ! I quickly found myself wanting to beat my record and I happily restarted several small games. Making a perfect combo to increase your multiplier is super satisfying and forces us to take a risk between playing fast and playing well. A very pretty pixel art, beautiful work for in only 48 hours! :)
Wow, the highest score I've seen so far. The perfect multiplier was a late addition so glad you liked it. Thanks for playing!
Very fun game! I love the style as well; reminds me of Cat Goes Fishing! Great job!
Best was 3002!
I needed bigger arrow keys on my keyboard for this. I like how once you weight the fish it reminds you... there's always a bigger fish!
Ahhh! What a beautiful and well done PICO-8 Game. Really enjoyed this.
Great to see a Pico-8 game! Looking at the other feedback, there’s not much else I would add but this is certainly a fun take on fishing that would be very welcome as a minigame in a full-release title. Nice job!
Love the game and great execution!
I felt a bit disappointed that I couldn't keep using bigger fish each new day - on day 2 and day 3 I would have liked to start a bit deeper by default. Didn't really feel like I was making progress, at least not visually.
Neat gameplay loop though and loved the tutorial, it was super clear.
Well done!
Ahh, there is only one day unfortunatley. The "go fishing" button on the weight screen is essentially a restart button. I really like your idea of making it a multi day expedition to the deep though. I'll keep that in mind if I revist the project. Thanks for playing!
Damn, that’s some heavy fish. As a vegan, I can’t condone fishing, but since it’s a video game I like it. It’s a fun little game indeed. It’s always cool seeing PICO-8.
Haha, you're right, the fish deserve better! Maybe I'll add an option to catch microplastics instead. Together we can save the fish! Thanks for playing :)
Catching microplastics instead is such an underrated idea xD
It's simple but lots of fun! My highest score was 3394!
what a fun small game ! I like the rythm game-like gameplay :)
Cute and simple! Loved it!
