This was a lot of fun to play! The different modes were really amusing to discover; I certainly didn't expect to be playing so many different genres in the span of about ten minutes. The only real trouble spot for me during my playthrough was the vehicle section, since I kept getting tossed in the air and flipping over. Thankfully, the respawns were quick enough that it wasn't annoying to try again. Also, I don't know if this is a problem on my machine only, but I felt like the mouse sensitivity was too high on the FPS section. It would have been nice to be able to adjust it in-game.
Well done on the game! It was a good time all the way to the end.
Thank you!
Pressing space in the driving section should've flipped you over, though I've noticed with someone playtesting that not working for some reason, so it might've not worked for you either.
The mouse sensitivity thing is unfortunate, since we added a mouse slider that is supposed to appear in the settings menu once you're in the FPS level, but due to a wrong reference it doesn't get enabled at all in the jam build. And we noticed that too late.
Good to hear you still had fun besides that :)
feels nice to play, and i really like the style
i found this game through one of the genre tags and thought it might have been mislabelled, but it was a nice surprise!! enjoyed all the games, loved the animations and snake model
Well, I am sure no one expects how this game is going to unravel hahahaha God job!!! Very nice controls and awesome use of the theme.
Wow. What an experience. It's incredible how you guys were able to pack in so much in just 9 days. All the sections are consistently fun. The characters feel nice to control. Overall, this is an excellent game!
This game is awesome, no spoilers. Fantastic use of the theme. Very polished too, for how much code would have to go into this. Way to go, hope you win.
Smooth and well-done game! Art was great, I'm impressed with how much you all were able to do in the short amount of time.
This was a really interesting play through, and I was not at all prepared for the multiple genres switches, haha! the controls are responsive and the 3D models are well done! I had some issues in the second level where the car would flip and get stuck on its side while the snake clipped through me, and pushed me along without triggering the restart pop-up. Good work overall!
Damn, and I thinking that I had done a lot! hahahaha
Great game, really fun! Congrats!
You got a great entry here, good job! Although you've put 4 different games in one, none of them feel neglected. I kinda hoped you could make the snake eat itself in the final fight, although it was kind of hinted in the final cutscene. Nice!
Thank you!
Yeah we had a few ideas for the final, but we kinda ran out of time, so we had to make do.
That snake rapidly gaining on me in my rearview when I hit an obstacle was appropriately terrifying. Great job on keeping the style and vibes consistent across all of the genres!
loved the intro animation and snake model.
i had to lough while starting the second level. Also the view of the mirror is really cool ;)
in the third level i would increase the speed a bit.
impressive that you combined 4 genres here
Really cool implementation of switching between multiple genres. I did encounter a bug with the pause menu breaking your ability to aim the gun, but very fun and interesting idea!
Hey, thanks for your feedback!
I tested it and you're right! I guess that's a problem with our WebGL version. However, you can fix the game by restarting the stage in the menu.
Glad you liked it :)
That was amazing. Didn’t expect any of those twists. The final boss was really really fun especially.
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it!
Always love a good snake game. Wait… what?? I’m usually not a shooter kind of a person, but darn those controls were good. I have to save this for reference, because I’m usually bad at aiming, but in this game it felt good because I could do most of the work with movement. Now I want to make my own shooter that feels like that. :D
I am also not the biggest shooter player myself, but I really enjoyed play-testing the old Quake. The controls were more washy and not as snappy as in newer shooters. This gives the player a faster feeling, which I really enjoyed and tried to capture.
Glad you liked the end result. :)
The first level is really interesting because of the use of 3D and it's a very fun replay of the famous snake game.
I really didn't expect such a turnaround during the second level!
Ho- wha- I- Good game!
Gotta say, I had a blast playing this. Really took me back to the good old games from my childhood.
The intro was great! At first, when I saw one of the snakes avoid another, I thought they were running autonomously. Then I saw what you were doing :)
Smooth controls and no problem playing with a trackpad. Nice music (stage 3 is still playing in my head). Cute 3D models. Would play again.
I agree that the rings on stage 2 are kind of hard to see, but after a while you get a feeling for where they should be. One thing I would like is a sound when picking up items on stage 3. Loved the animations of the apple's face on that stage though :)
(Btw.. could you pick up other weapons on stage 3?)
Thanks for your kind words!
Yeah, I was planning to add sounds for the pickups as well, but unfortunately there was no time left.
And no, there aren't any weapons to pick up :)
"This is just snakes, but in 3D?... wait... what is this, a racing game???"
10/10 plot twist. Hilarious also that the racing mode had the snake chasing you in the rear view mirror. The controls across game modes were smooth.
One QOL would be to increase the contrast of the rings against the road. It's hard to see at the moment. I also echo the comment below me about the theme not being clear. The snake stage would also benefit from a objective counter (i.e. 12 / 12) so people don't dismiss this as a simple snake remake!
But overall, seems like a lot of work was put in for this entry with the multiple game modes, and I had fun playing it.
Overall, this game was an amazing experience. Took about 8 minutes to complete, and was very fun the whole way through. I loved the intro screen, and the way the game kept switching genres was awesome. The racing game had cool mechanics, I loved the drifting, and the doom part was great aswell. If I had any criticism at all, it would be that the theme isn't too prominent throughout the game, but this is a very nitpicky thing so it might just be me thinking that lol. The game is great :)
Hey, thank you for playing!
Yeah, we had a hard time with this theme in the concept phase, so when this idea came up and everyone liked it we decided to stick with it although it doesn't perfectly fit.
