I HATE HEXAGON! Oops, I startred it with the wrong sentence... Anyway, cool game, but spining object is... kinda odd.Sometimes it just doesn't move, despite the fact that I'm literally spinning my cursor all over the screen.

Anyweay, cool game =3              8.87843/10

Developer(+2)

Weapons have some wind-up to them, so it's not quite as simple as 'mouse is spinning, weapon is spinning', especially once you lose momentum, though weapons do also need a *little* more fine-tuning later on if we do anything post-jam. As for Hexagon, valid hatred. I personally constantly got my butt kicked by Triangle, Polygoner is a bit of a tough fight for sure. Thanks for checking it out and giving us such a specific rating!

Everything is very well done in this game, but unfortunately, I don't think I liked the main mechanic, which involves rotating your mouse to spin the weapon and then having to move with the spinning weapon to potentially hit the bosses. Also, the weapon's rotation didn’t always respond properly, which caused my death many times. On the other hand, the power-ups are clear and consistent, you can feel the difference between each one

Developer(+2)

Thanks for checking our game out, even if it wasn't quite your cup of tea. Weapon rotation spent a lot of time receiving fixes and adjustments, and it could definitely benefit from a little more time to cook, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get a build roughly finished and up for the jam's end.

Submitted(+1)

How did you submit 23 days before deadline! So fast and very polished game with multiple mechanic.

Please rate mine duck game.

Developer(+1)

Submission date is just when our first build was uploaded to the jam, haha. We were updating it all the way up to the (extended) deadline, glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool entry.  The 'spin' is definitely strong with this one :) Art and visuals are a huge plus here, and love the roguelike elements and subtle secondary applications of 'spin' throughout.
I'm really impressed with how cohesive it feels given the size of the team as well - you guys must have your communication and logistics absolutely on lock.

I'd like to submit my application to also join hammer gang (but seriously, that weapon feels super chunky in a great way)

Developer(+1)

Our artists and musicians coordinated really well to make sure we had a cohesive experience. All the long meetings we had to make sure everybody was on the same page in terms of what needed done and what everybody thought about the in-dev builds definitely helped make sure it all made sense in the end.

I'll forward your application to the relevant departments, expect a confirmation email in roughly 3-5 business days. Lol

Submitted(+1)

very clever interpitation of the theme! i did think someone will make this type of mechanic but i feel this game did it very well! i love the visuals, and i do feel like you flexed on a lot of us! solid entry for sure

Developer(+1)

I wouldn't call it a flex, more like 'putting our wonderful team's talents on display' hehe. We definitely took the theme in a pretty straightforward direction, not a super crazy *spin* on things, but we wanted to keep it simple and expand in other directions. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

good game,
its a bit tiring to spin the weapon for long periods of time, but I bet that playing it on a controller would feel somewhat like a 2d apescape

Submitted(+1)

The combat mechanic fits the theme perfectly and it was implemented well. I had a lot of fun playing the bosses, though I do think their health was a just a little too much for my taste. The art is obviously fantastic and I love that you have a range of weapons and also items to choose from to make the combat fun for any play style. The team did an awesome job!

Submitted(+2)

Really fun game it felt felt really satisfying to play too. The art and music are also insanely good and complement the game very well!

Developer(+1)

I'll send the compliments to the art and music teams, they do deserve wayyyy more love than what they are getting right now. We're glad you had fun playing!

Submitted(+1)

cool game. how can you look at my game

Developer(+2)

I try not to play non web builds (computer and internet safety reasons) but I'm sure someone else on the team can try it. Also how did you get that cool looking text box, I'm jealous.

Submitted(+1)
You are right to take care of safety. As for the text box, I created it myself.

Submitted(+2)

The game is AWESOME! I loved the art style, music, SFX, and gameplay.

Developer(+2)

Our asset teams absolutely killed it. I said it in a pervious comment reply but they need WAYYYY more love than what they're getting right now. They honestly helped so much when it came to polish too, their work is one of the main reasons our game is so good right now. We're glad you got to experience all of it and had fun!!!

Submitted(+2)

Great job! nice artstyle and gameplay! 🤩

Developer(+1)

Thanks, We're glad you had fun! Is there a specific weapon you liked? Just curious, I'm collecting data for the team

(Totally not trying to prove a point about hammer supremacy or anything)

Submitted(+2)

Very original concept of using weapons, especially the hammer. Music, ui and sfx are top notch. Sometimes fps drops low, thanks to web build. But in general, it's really well made and can become the winner of this year

Developer(+1)

I won't lie to you, our asset teams absolutely killed it. They need more love than what they're getting right now.  We're glad you got the chance to play our game and had fun!!!

(Also nice, we love hammer supremacy)

Beautiful graphics and good gameplay. If you spin the mouse for a long time, you will get tired. There should be a pause button and there should be an item that regenerates life power (I played until the 2nd boss. The creator may have made it too late. I may not have made it that far). Sometimes, when spinning, the game has a lag. It may be because I play on the website. If I download it to play, it should be smoother. Thank you for making this game for me to play.

Developer(+2)

So first thing's first. I'm happy you enjoyed our game, and loved how it looked.

Second thing, Yes spinning your mouse will get tiring. The team is working on a way to ease that problem, its just taking a little while longer to balance out.

Third thing, we do have an item to regen stamina, but I'm assuming you meant health. As of right now we don't have a health regen item, but if we did it'd be a small regen and it wouldn't be able to bring you back up to full.

We're glad you had fun playing the game though!!!

Submitted(+2)

Really fun idea! But I found it a bit tiring to keep spinning the mouse

Developer(+2)

That is something we are actively working on to try and fix. It's a balance of difficulty and user experience and we're still trying to find ways to better the user experience.  Aside from that I'm glad you enjoyed our game!!

Good game, it was nice to see how it grew with each feedback stream.🙂

My main feedback would be (I was playing on web):

- 2nd boss fight felt a bit messy: like this https://ibb.co/qMHVVY9J, when some parts became invisible, but still tail somehow was moving with the main body; or this https://ibb.co/5hFLWhwF when boss had strange rotation angles and even was going in the hole he was coming from, dunno if it was a feature. :D Also perhaps boss shouldn't be able to target holes, which are next to each other, cuz then boss and player can't really interact with each other.

- 3rd boss fight. I would say it was kinda repetative and in some way similar to first boss fight. Like perhaps each sub-boss could have some more interesting mechanic, than just a bit changed shooting pattern.

Developer(+2)

yeah unfortunately with the worm boss some bugs popped up right before jam end that we couldn't fix in time, thankfully they're only visual.

With the third boss I wanted each phase to add a new attack, and it does, while old attacks get upgraded, I definitely could have made them more distinct but, time restrictions and all you know how it goes.

Submitted(+2)

The idea of spinning the mouse being the way to attack and deflect is great and implemented well.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you like the concept. It took us a while to implement. Seems like that time commitment paid off. We're happy you enjoyed our game!

Submitted(+2)

Really like the sound and art! It's a shame the particles don't work on web, would have been very satisfying to see that worm explode!

Developer(+2)

Unfortunately, some stuff gets lost in translation but alas. We're happy as long as you enjoyed the experience and had fun.

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

I like the unique controls, but they took a while to get the hang of.

I like how you can spin the boss’s attacks against them as well. A very cool take on the theme.

Developer(+2)

The deflect took forever to get right, so we're glad you had fun using it!

Submitted(+1)

Neat game! was excited to try to beat a boss with no weapon, but the empty pedestal is sadly just empty :(

Developer(+2)

that pedestal is for the secret fourth weapon that you get when beating the game!

Submitted(+2)

Very good game, your hand hurts after a while of spinning so much but it is very good :D

Developer(+2)

We're super happy you got to experience (Carpel Tunnel Simulator) Spinborne. Glad you enjoyed our game!
