All bosses have a unique spinning mechanic as well as environmental spinning effects, there is also a 'spin' in the storyline ;)

This was exactly my vision for the game jam as well but i couldnt finish it in time. This is amazing!!! now i know how good this idea could be. Honestly great job!!

This game looks phenomenal! I really loved the artstyle and the music you made for this one, everything is very settling and fits super well! My only complaint is about some mouse drifting, I think this maybe has to do with the cogs on the arena, but it somehow made me feel super dizzy. Other than that, I think you made a pretty good job!

I've encountered a bug on the second boss x( I couldn't shoot, dash, and I was completely stuck. I also had a serious frame drop during that fight. But the boss design is really memorable and the music is great (though I wish there was a different OST for each boss). Anyway, you did a great job. GG! ❤

This was pretty cool! I like the artwork, the environment design is especially good, very nice atmosphere. The story was solid for a game this size, the twist was a nice touch, and I enjoyed the ending :)

Absolutely INCREDIBLE job on this one, I'm in disbelief that you were able to pull this off in just a month, everything here is polished like a diamond. The world and lore are just stunningly grand, fighting through these almighty beings in these stunning circular arenas felt amazing. I have not played a game in this jam that was anywhere near as efficient as selling its bosses as these all powerful beings the same way this game has. And despite that, the bosses still felt very fair and fun to fight. The 2nd fight in particular I thought was just a blast, and the final boss was also awesome. Although I did run into an issue in one of my attempts were because of my proximity to the boss, the projectiles just stunlocked me and kept hitting me right as I got out of my stunned state over and over until I died. It seemed to be a very very rare occurrence though I think I just got really unlucky with my spacing. Either way though this game is just otherworldly brilliant, seriously phenomenal work here

I cheesed the first two bosses as much as possible (by just standing on the edge where most of their attacks won't reach me), as with the amount of health they have I don't see any way to beat them in a fair fight. But the last one didn't have any obvious weaknesses, so I don't stand a chance against it ¦3

It was an interesting experience, well done finishing all of that as a solo dev!

Sorry it was a bit hard D: I had a bit of a tough time balancing the game. When i got it play tested they absolutely blasted through it, so maybe i over buffed them cus you’re not the first person to say they feel a bit too healthy.

Did the developer of Warframe decide to try their hand at a game jam? XD

Fun game, I really liked the rotation of the first boss, especially how all the gears spin in different directions, and you move along with them.

It would be nice to have a pause option in the game. Also, I think the stun from hits was quite long, and sometimes I ended up collecting multiple bullets in a row without being able to move.

The bosses are quite tough, and you have to shoot at them for a long time while dodging the same attacks. However, their mechanics are very interesting!

Also, I think health should be replenished after defeating a boss. When I played, I ended up with just 1-2 hits worth of health before moving on to the next boss, and I almost immediately died.

By the way, it’s cool that the eye ended up being a boss too. Interesting plot twist!

haha I don’t really know what to say to that :D Thankyou so much, that’s the best compliment I’ve ever gotten.

I didn’t add a pause because the game was so short and i didn’t wna take time away from developing other parts of the project, but you are right, it definitely would be a good addition.

I had a difficult time balancing the bosses tbh, they where either too weak and you killed them so fast you didnt get to experience anything, or they ended up being a bit tough and a bit repetitive, with a bit more time i think i could balance them properly, but i just struggled with it overall, also I really wanted to add health regen after each level but i ran out of time so instead its only when you die.

Im glad you enjoyed the plot twist!

Sweet game you got there! nice visuals and unique spinning mechanics, the gyroscope effect! At the beginning I ran backwards and fell into a pit and got stuck, had to restart the game! lol.. silly me.. Grats on the submission and good luck!

Awesome game! I really enjoyed the story and the twist in the final boss. The environments were fantastic too!

My only two bits of feedback are that the bosses felt a bit too spongy healthwise, and a health refill between fights would be a great addition.

Thankyou! and thanks for the feedback! A health refill between levels was on a todo list, but i just ran out of time. D: You do get a full health refill if you die though or fall off the map though, so that’s why it dropped to the bottom of the todo list.

I appreciate all of the models and animations you made for this, they were fun to look at! The cel shading was nice, and the vfx were as well! Very pleasing from a visual standpoint. My biggest gripe gameplay wise is that some of the gaps in the ground on some stages (stages 1 and 2) would sometimes get in the way of my movement, perhaps the ground collider in that first stage could have been a simple plane collider. The camera would also sometimes automatically move to some direction other than the one I was aiming at. Overall though I had fun just jumping and shooting around!

The idea for the movement in the stages is to add the ‘spin’ theme into the world design, the gaps were unintentional though and a product of the many moving parts that i didn’t have enough time to come up with a solution for D:

Rethinking it, i would have imported custom colliders that covered larger areas to ignore the smaller gaps and filled in any annoying gaps with basic planes to stop any of this, but hindsight is 20/20 you know :D

Really cool! The set pieces/boss arenas are super cool. Two pieces of constructive criticism:

  • At first I was confused about the health bars. I figured the one on the top was the boss health bar bc it was closer to the boss, and didn't understand why it wasn't going down when I was shooting the boss
  • You should add screenshots to the page! The visuals are so cool, and especially since you don't have a WebGL version I think you'll get a lot more people playing it if they can see screenshots before downloading
