Very nice concept! Like you said in your comments already the learning curve was a bit hard, some tutorial would be fun teaching you your 3 options (y x and rotate). But very cool overall!
Super interesting concept and polished realization, great job! It's a shame there wasn't time to design learning curve, without simpler shapes first it feel overwhelming.
I thought initially that maybe I had just gotten very good at the game and thats why I’m hearing so many people say its hard.. then I realized its the RNG! I just tried another round today and you’re right, it sometimes launches with a 7 vertex behemoth that is not friendly to the player at all!
Wow this is a really cool concept! In terms of gameplay, I especially like how you are not required to get a very similar shape before you are allowed to submit, it lets the player pace the game however they want and avoid frustration. Also, I can sense this must have been veery math-heavy on the programming side, so props for achieving such an enjoyable result. Excellent work!
Geometry geometry geomgetyr gomertery yes yes yes 11/10
I’m going to assume you liked it XD
I personally didn't click with the gameplay at all, but I cannot deny that it is an interesting mechanic implemented with a high level of polish in both visuals and SFX.
There's no doubt that with some additions, namely gameplay mechanics / features for mid- to late-game, there is a perfectly realisable game here. Solid submission, congratulations!
Ahh, sad to hear that, but I understand! I do seem to having quite divisive responses. Thanks for taking the time to play!
No worries, thank you for taking the time and effort to make and submit it! My spatial awareness in 3D isn't great, so really this is not a game made for me. Unfortunately, the Enjoyment rating is what it is, but the level of polish you achieved in the time frame is truly amazing and I'd love to see what you could come up with if we had had, say, a week!
Very fun and addictive! It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but once I started adjusting the rotation & skew mid-shape (instead of only once I had drawn the full shape) it really got interesting. I think the controls could be a tiny bit clearer, but otherwise nice execution.
Really nice idea and execution! This is a unique game for this jam, and I can see the code complexity just looking at it! Great job!
This is a really great concept! I enjoyed this game a lot once i understood how it works. My only issue is that it started out kinda difficult so it started off very difficult but once you get used to it it becomes very fun : D
Really cool idea, it's a bit tricky at first but generally it was a really smooth experience. I think the project could use more gamification elements such as a time limit, or narrative elements, as right now it has been seemingly endless (at least for how long I tested).
Agreed with needing a timer or progression systems where you gain new manipulations over time. It really is endless now, more akin to a hyper casual mobile game so there is definitely a lack of depth there.
I’m glad you brought it up! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Incredible concept and execution. Very minimalistic, and a cool interpretation of the jam's theme! My only gripe is I would've liked some easy shapes to begin with, but that's honestly very minor, the system itself is fun enough to play around and experiment with
Valid gripe! I do agree that a smoother ease into the game would’ve been better. I didn’t imagine that a new player would get a 7 vertices horror lol, but I can see it happening.
Thanks for playing!
Super clever premise! An awesome balance of difficult yet easy to understand that makes its addicting. I could honestly see this game made into a mobile title that would steal so much of my time.
Glad you enjoyed :) Thanks for playing.
neat little experience! if you made it a bit less "analogue", snappier and added a time limit you'd have a great little arcade puzzler here, but its already real fun to waste time with right now. great work!
Yeah I get what you mean about it being “analogue”.. I’ll try to play around with that. I refrained from adding a timer because it’s crazy hard to figure out balance in a jam game and I’ve already had people say it’s too hard 😅 If I had more time, game modes would’ve been nice I feel.
Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts!
Cute fun game! Didn't get hooked on it like other people are commenting but I can imagine it would be fun to build your skill at matching these shapes. Love the SFX
Yeah, it seems to be quite hit or miss! Thanks for playing :)
I love the sounds on this, I was super worried I would have to draw the shapes but the grid snapping made it so much better than I thought!
Holy moly is this addictive! Five stars all around from me. I'm going to return to this game and keep trying! Best I got so far was a 91%. (I thought I could cheat at one point by making a really big square to cover the hole but I got 0% T uT)
I also really appreciate the SFX and lack of music. I think a constant track would have made the game less peaceful. Plus then hearing the SFX was that much more satisfying.
Great job!
Thank you so much for the kind words. It makes me really happy that you enjoyed playing!! A word of warning though.. I don’t think it’s possible to 100% because I ran out of time and randomly generated the shapes without guaranteeing a perfect solution 😅. The highest I’ve got so far is 97%!
I’ll make sure to pass along your thoughts on the SFX to my teammate! He really made some excellent choices with the little input I provided.
Oh no! Well maybe not being able to 100% will just keep people playing to try and win haha.
I can never get the shapes to fit properly, which drives me INSANE. My perfectionist side hates this so much because of the skewing and rotating causing non-exact fits. However, really good job on the polish.
Yes I’m so sorry about that 😥 I ran out of time to hand design the puzzles and my code wasn’t flexible enough to make sure the shapes were exactly solvable so I ended up randomly generating them.. I hope you still had some fun with it!
Great game! I really liked the idea and even though i am bad at it, it is really fun, good work.
Loved the presentation of this one the sounds were great too.
Drawing the missing piece on graph paper is a fun mechanic.
The Stretch and skew elements didn't hit for me - its a fun concept to show that order matters but it found it quite fiddly to do (probably not the target audience)
I liked the UX of drawing shapes on the grid and would like to see more of that.
Overall I had a good time serving plenty customers - perhaps just a little too complex a game mechanic for me :D
Fair enough, I can completely understand. Thanks a lot for playing and sharing your experience! Definitely helps in understanding what worked and what didn’t.
Awesome game! great job with the audio
One of the most creative games (IMO),
I did not play for long so ignore if I am wrong
gameplay wise It would great if there was some time limit or some kind pressure,
like bad satisfaction level would get you out of job (game over)
Noted! Thanks for playing.
