Very well designed & intuitive game.

Developer

Thank you! We were worried about the tutorial, so I'm glad it all made sense!

I loved, loved, loved the art style on this. Made the game feel really immersive. Also, the timer provided a much needed sense of urgency across the levels.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! The artists will be glad to hear it!

We're glad we included both the cosy and the timed options for different player styles :)

very complete and polished entry.

Developer

It was a busy few days! Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

The level of polish and presentation of this entry is awesome, might be the best I've seen of all entries I tried. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Wow that is high praise! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed it :)

Wow, the art design and polish of the UX is incredibly impressive! And I was quite surprised when the gameplay scaled up from simple vials into potions. I would probably have wanted to see a little more variation in fulfilling orders though, maybe customers can ask for a potion to fulfill a certain scenario, and you have to determine which potion to make? But overall, great work!

Developer(+1)

This is a really good idea. We were thinking of ways to expand the game, and having customers with specific needs would work really well! Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Lots of polish and a unique mechanic! Excellent work!

Developer

Thank you! A slightly different take on the 'scaling' theme but we think it worked out pretty well :)

Submitted(+1)

Pretty cool idea and execution! it was pretty fun rushing to do the orders, it was a good challenge! Congratulation for making this, it's also nicely polished!

Developer

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! We're glad we included the cosy and the timed options for different play styles :)

The cozy mode was useful! I used it to learn the mechanics for one or two minutes :D

Up to this point this is the most polished game i've seem this jam. It feels like a complete game, very impressive considerating it was done in just 96 hours.

Developer

Wow that is high praise! Thank you so much :)

Amazing art, the book flip is especially cool, but I felt that the book animation should be a little faster and the text should appear on the page as soon as you can see it so I don't have to spend so much time waiting for the pages to flip when I was learning the recipes. It took a little time to get used to the glowing effects, but other than that, the game was amazing, I love casual games where you make things, then use those things to make more things, and use those things to make even more things. I played a few other games that use crafting mechanics, but I think this game does it best. Great work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. Getting those animations to feel just right is always tough, and we probably should speed it up, especially in timed mode!

Simple but very polished and fun to play. Congrats!

Thank you!!

wonderful style and I'm surprised it ran so well in browser! I played the cozy mode so I was having a nice time just clicking the tiles, it didn't feel like there was much of a puzzle aspect but I loved the feedback on clicks and when the tiles spawned in! :D

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! Getting it optimised was a big priority this year, so I'm glad it ran well for you!

I think the visuals of the game are great, but I also think that's it's detriment. I'm supposed to be looking for the ingredients on the table, but I'm overwhelmed by the intense colors and glow(?) effects. I feel like I'm more limited by my eyesight than anything else in this game.

Developer

In hindsight, this is probably the biggest issue with the game. It was one of those "It works for now, we can finetune it later" types of things, and then there was always more things to fix that we ran out of time! A lesson for next time! I hope you enjoyed the game regardless!

Submitted(+1)

Nice ambiance, which contrasts a bit with the short timing. Very nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Yes, we added both a Timed and Cozy mode because the team enjoyed playing both ways. I hope you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

I loved the game, it was a rush to get everything done as fast as possible, but it also felt really annoying that each recipe needed a lot of different ingredients, which made trying to remember each recipe impossible. Nonetheless, I still had a lot of fun with the game!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! With some more time, testing and better balance we could hit the sweet spot with number of ingredients, but that's the nature of GameJams! Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Submitted(+1)

This is a really cool lil game, but I kinda wish there were fewer types of vials & potions so I could better remember how to make them without relying on the book, or if there was a way to see my goal product and the entire branching tree to make it. Either way, I love the tiles mechanic and the sounds and visuals are stunning!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! We did plan on reducing the number of potions and elixirs, but then forgot about that in the mad rush to finish this! The branching tree idea could be a cool addition, maybe in cozy mode. We quite like flicking through the book frantically! But this is all stuff that needs more testing than possible in a Jam unfortunately! Glad you enjoyed the game regardless!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, love the presentation and visuals in this! The game is charming, and it's fun to scale up the alchemy business, love the physics-y nature of all the vials rolling around.

Developer

Thank you so much! We enjoyed the physics assets, it seemed to add some extra fun charm? Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Very good looking and in depth game! The elixirs make it hella complicated very quickly. Would appreciate if instead of a book it was 3 pages showing the vials, potions and elixirs all at the same time.

Fantastic work!

Developer

We did consider that, but in the time frame it made more sense for us to keep using the book mechanics. We also quite liked the feeling of flicking through the pages frantically! But it certainly does make things harder, and needs a bunch more feedback to know  if it was the right choice. Thank you for your comment and the kind words!

This is such a pretty game and very well polished. It was a fun game and I enjoyed seeing the weird types of tiles for ingredients

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We probably spent too long designing the tiles and potion names, ha! But you noticed, so it was all worth it!

Submitted(+1)

Very nice game, it still blows me away how game scan be so well thought out and polished in just a few days. Great work !

Developer

Thank you! It was a difficult weekend, but it all come together! Glad you enjoyed it!

Randomly clicking the candle and actually being able to blow it out and light it made me smile! The game looks and sounds great and feels very polished. The gameplay is just basic crafting but it was relaxing to play. (In cozy mode ofc, we don't do the other one :P) I like the deck mechanic with the ingredients but I feel it might have been improved by drawing fewer cards. I was never more than one click away from an ingredient. If only 5-8 had been shown at a time then I would have had to use the mechanic much more! Perhaps that would make it so it feels more like foraging.
I might be wrong on this, it's just a gut feeling!
Overall great job!

Developer

Thank you for noticing the candle! Some of my team meets questioned my logic in implemented that! I feel so vindicated! :D

We originally designed this to be more frantic, trying to match cards are fast, and  the idea was there would be more cards but also more options so it would get harder to find the cards each round. Didn't quite pan out that way in the end but hey ho, got the candle implemented so nothing else matters :D
