Fantastic game! The art, the sound, the concept, everything is great :D

Love the theming, love the aesthetic. Feeling the horror vibes at the start. 10/10, would run as admin. Movement is great, mechanics are great. Pressing dash and jump at the same time gives a huge speed boost which is really fun. Don’t know how I was supposed to figure it out though, is it a bug?

But a few things made me not finish getting platinums:

  • The dash cooldown after hitting a button that bounces you.
  • Getting the cursor’s feet stuck in a corner.
  • Keyboard controls are optimized for playing with one hand, but awkward for two. I’m not good at controller.
  • Chaining dashing into riding or riding into dashing is awkward: they’re on the same button and dashing is a press action while riding is a press and hold action. If you want to avoid an extra button, I’d try putting riding on the jump button, or making riding not require timing the initial button press so you can dash and keep the button held do ride.

I'm so grateful for all the positive feedbacks ! You should come and check the game again after the jam ends, I think most of the things you mentioned might get fixed ;3

Absolutely epic!! Every part of the levels were crammed with character--I love the little nods to the jam and the game's creators in the hyperlinks you surf across! Using the different mouse cursor shapes as different " forms" you can shapeshift between felt so darn good and clickable "resize" buttons on the windows were totally genius. The levels were very challenging but addicting, I had a blast making it all the way to the end!

The fact that I accidentally turned on Sticky Keys like three times while dashing only boosted the retro PC aesthetic even further xD Fantastic ideas executed with polish and flair!! Y'all should give each other a high five, this is definitely a jam highlight! Keep up the great work ^^

Developer(+1)

That's really encouraging, thank you !!! We might still be working on the game after the jam so we definitely needed that ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ

Really great idea and tons of mechanics to play with. I'm not very good at the game or platformers in general, I was a constant silver level player. I got through 3 of the levels but I found the dash and then press to grind of the URL a bit trick at times. I think a different button to go into waiting form would have worked a little better but that's from a low level player so take it with a grain of salt.

Cool ideas all round, awesome.

Developer

I think you have a point ! Holding, releasing and tapping the same button in quick succession added a skill requirement that I think was unnecessary

i love the aesthetic of the game!! the controls where a bit hard but loved the vibe :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks Suu ! We'll do our best to smooth things out

I loved this game, it's very fun and challenging. You nailed the audio and aesthetics, and that intro was a very nice touch. I thought I would have a hard time playing on keyboard, but I really liked the control scheme. Great job :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks Jorel ! Couldn't quite get to the level of polish you had, but we tried :3

cool idea, the asthetic is pretty on point! I pressed the reset button though, argh -.-

Developer

I'm really considering adding a checkpoint in the tutorial (・–・;)ゞ

Amazing work, such cool and unique mechanics, especially the URL sliding. Love this game, even though it was really challenging. The aesthetic and music are also obviously great. Nice game!

Submitted(+2)

Quite challenging for a short game, and pretty smooth controls. I only got 3 platinums, but I might come back for the rest.

Developer (1 edit)

Come back whenever ;3

Love the intro and the rest of the visuals following, the computer screen shader was a great inclusion. This was challenging, but really satisfying when I could finally get to the end.

I really enjoyed the intro cinematic and the art and audio were super cool! I had some issues playing the web build version, so I went to the download version which worked better! My only criticism is that the controls were a little loose for my taste in a platformer, and I think they could be tightened up a bit. Overall, great submission!

I stopped at the third level, I'm really bad at this game! Hahaha! But it was super creative and, even though it's nothing like it, it reminds me of Super Hexagon. Short levels, high death count, but super addictive! Congrats!

I liked the idea of the game but I found the controls hard to work with. I kept missing jumps, being unable to time jumps and dashes correctly, and getting stuck on corners. I wanted to see if there was a way to remap it so I pressed escape and self destructed. I got so frustrated with the controls that I ended up not getting past the tutorial. I really enjoyed the intro of the game though, I thought it was funny when I tried to open godot and paint and both of them corrupted on me.

Such an amazing game ! Everything is a pleasure for the eyes. 👏

Submitted(+2)

Fantastic intro! The game itself was a bit too hard for me - even the tutorial took quite a lot of time for me to finish, and I self-destructed at the end, which forced me to complete the tutorial again :D I hoped I could skip the tutorial after that self-destruction :)

And I totally loved the vibe and tempo!

super fun and addicting. awesome job! love the clever title

Submitted(+2)

This is really well-polished! My only suggestion for me is that it has too much acceleration and deceleration speed for a precision platformer game. Other than that, dayyum this is a really good game!

Developer(+1)

The hourglass was meant to kinda balance out the crazy speeds you could otherwise reach, but with some fine tuning I'm sure we can come closer to something even better! Thanks for the feedback, and of course: Thanks for playing! :D

Satisfyingly difficult.  The URL surfing felt really nice to pull off.  You got that 90's desktop vibe down to a T

Developer

The 90s era is what first greeted me when I spawned in this world, I'm happy we could give an hommage to the aesthetic of that time! Thank you for playing our game and for the feedback! :)

The theme implementation is genius! Very original take on metamorphosis. The gameplay was fun and satisfying. 😄

I had a bit of a difficult time with the areas that required the dash, it felt like I had to be super precise.

Other than that, incredible entry! Keep up the great work! 👍

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing ! !

My only regret is that I wish we had more time to make a few more levels that would be more forgiving

Submitted(+2)

Brutally tough but amazingly well done! Admittedly, I am downright *awful* at platformers haha.  I really really enjoyed the URL surfing mechanic, man that was so satisfying.  Awesome submission to the Game Jam!

Developer

I had feeling the game might be too hard but I'm really happy to see most people really enjoyed it

Thanks for playing  & thanks for your kind comment !
