Description
Based on the theme “inside my world”, False Paradise is a story-driven 2D platformer.
After the passing of her mother, the young protagonist buries her subconscious emotions deep within and secludes herself into her own world, trying to ignore the perils of reality. Crafted from the wonder and imagination of a child, her world is as whimsical as it is perfect. Everyone is there and everyone is happy. But her family is nowhere to be seen. So she sets off on a quest to find them.
_TRACK 1: Paradise
Main Theme
_TRACK 2: Spindly Spire
Spindly Spire
The tallest tower in the world. It has long since been abandoned due to its unstable structure and much wildlife have made it their home. It is right beside the big cliff and the only path to the Memory Plateau. The protagonist climbs up the tranquil yet precarious tower, avoiding its various traps and wildlife. As she traverses through the tower, however, she spots multiple abnormal hospital rooms with black silhouettes of her mother and herself.
Memory Plateau
The serene plateau at the top of the cliff. As the protagonist moves through the Memory Plateau, her buried memories can be seen in the many bubbles that populate the plateau. Some of the bubbles form familiar figures. Her family. They comfort and encourage her to face reality. Though she is hesitant, she trusts their words.
_TRACK 3: Ingrained Fear
With a renewed sense of confidence, the protagonist searches for a way to leave. But her subconscious won't let her leave. She is still afraid deep down. The world becomes unstable and she is forced to run as the world crumbles behind her. Her surroundings keep changing between the different locations until she reaches her subconscious.
_TRACK 4: False Paradise
Her subconscious is a black silhouette of herself, who has been bearing the pain of the incident all alone. Her subconscious tries to convince her to stay in this world, and to forget everything else. But the protagonist is finally ready to share the burden, and becomes whole once again.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I used mallet percussion and voices to convey a dreamlike atmosphere.

Glad I discovered this track at the tail end. I agree that the orchestration here is phenomenal. Definitely some of the best I've heard in this jam. Very professional cinematic sound with, yes, some strong Williams vibes. My only feedback is that at times I had a hard time connecting the music with what the description suggests. Spindly Tower, for example is so bright and energetic and wonderful, yet I'm not hearing the unsettling experience of encountering the described abnormal hospital rooms. So this is to say, my only feedback is there is exceptional talent here that I think can be more integrated with the substance of the story. I loved listening to this though. A great highlight at the end of the jam. Thanks for making and sharing.
As others have noted - some fantastic orchestration at play here. Arranged and layered really nicely. The melodies in Spindly Spire are packed to the brim with whimsy, and I love how often you're trading melodies off to other sections. Great use of articulations throughout across all instruments; feels like there's no stone left unturned and unexplored here.
Great work - this was a delight to listen to and, honestly, a solid point of reference to come back to if I want to study some orchestration properly. Fantastic job, I wish you the best with it! :)
The music is breathtaking and your orchestra sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Good luck :)
realy cool orchestral writing!!!! your tracks are very visual and cinematic, i love how they build a story in such a unique way. Lots of smart musical choices here. fantastic work!!!
Fantastic Orchestration very John Williams at times, very well composed and written. Super cinematic. The thing is I think its so much cinematic I can see the cutscene but in gameplay I have a hard time to visualize it, it looks like it can fit perfectly on picture. Marvelous work !
So... first of all: I really like your cover art)
False Paradise - Sounds like a beautiful opening scene for a movie! And it sounds very beautiful! (especially the peak at 1:30. Goosebumps)
Spindly Spire - So... I love this choir. And here is such a good and slightly "crazy" melody. There is a certain dreamy tone)
Ingrained Fear - AH! It was awesome, cool, epic and exciting! Especially when closer to the middle for a while the track sounds like... A fairy tale? However, I can easily imagine a fairy tale movie... cool!
False Paradise is magical, a little menacing and very exciting towards the end... I feel the theme of the battle and the ending...
You've got a really high-quality soundtrack, which I think is perfect for a movie. Heh)
Thanks!
The first track was gorgeous!
It all felt like it belonged in an animated short with no dialogue and all the action was in time with the music!
I am so fond of this kind of music!!! :D
The main theme is so romantic and beautiful ! So much dynamic, the orchestration is unbelivable!
Woooah, that intro in Ingrained Fear! How did you do this :0
Amazing Ost honestly! And truly inspiring :) hope you get top 5 minimum!
tysm!
the climax in paradise (main theme) is chill inducing my god.... just really spot-on sense of orchestration and where to place your instruments, great job
I'm beyond impressed with how professional your writing is, this genuinely rivals some works I've heard written for AAA orchestral games, and I'm blown away by the fact that you did this in such a short amount of time. I think your work is misplaced, as this much more suits being performed in Carnegie Hall then just floating on the internet like this, just a suggestion. ABSOLUTELY brilliant.
Beautiful theme, AMAZING writing! Subscribed to you immediately, what a gem this is. Incredible job, I have no words!
Woahh!! This is so good!!! Super impressive orchestration chops, so harmonic and symphonic. The harmonies you achieve are incredible. There's so many effects here that I've never heard before. I'd love to hear about your creative process or inspirations for writing something like this.
There’s a real nostalgic-filimic quality to the writing here - can hear lots of inspirations. There is quite a lot going on at times, but you’ve got a really strong understanding of this type of harmony. Some impressive orchestrations created here, great work and also impressed you managed to get this all together, nice work!
WOW, this is insane, take my five-star NOW! Every track hit but I love the main theme the most. Incredible work dude!
What a grand, movie quality work you've made. This score is so cinematic it's nuts!
Great use of dynamics, arrangement, and dream-like timbres.
Favorite Track: Ingrained Fear
The tracks got me nostalgic about platform games, really gave me that open world vibe too. Very pretty, love a good orchestral!!
This is one of the orchestral submissions which sounds like something you'd hear in a real video game or even a movie (talking about the instruments and layering), I don't have any problems about it. The composition can get a little weird sometimes though (the high pitched notes at the beginning of "Spindly Fire" for example), the pacing can get a bit too fast.
My fav track is probably "Ingrained Fear".
The instrumentation is very good, the composition could be a bit more slowly paced.
Nice work!
Appreciate the feedback!
Paradise: There a lot of moments that feel very emotionally descriptive which I think makes this feel so cinematic like I am watching a film. Very impressive composition with so many moving layers!
Spindly Spire: The sound from the electronic instrument is so unique and intriguing to listen to. Your harmonic choices are so interesting, it makes for a really great listen. You also really have a knack for keeping the music forward and keeping momentum.
Ingrained Fear: Great introduction to a tense climactic part of the story. There are elements of Fantasia in here, your music reminds me a lot of classic Disney soundtracks. They sound so professional! That final cadence from the diminished sound into the major chord is so magical!
False Paradise: Those woodwind runs continue to remind me of Disney scores in a very impressive way. Your orchestration is impeccable. This entire soundtrack is ready to go to the studio for live recording!
Overall: I am very impressed with your compositional style - it sounds very polished with undoubtedly much experience backing it up. The music was able to tell the story on its own as it was very emotive and was able to quickly change emotions like a film score. Well done and thank you for sharing!
I struggle with this one - while I like the orchestral effort put into this and some of the things going on - I wish it was played slower and with more gravity. The result for me is a sort of Tim Burton film; and while that's not bad at all, what was written down won't translate to me without another listen or two.
Still - kudos! Also - what's with all those little spoons in your screenshots? =P
Really nice orchestration, very cinematic. Spindly Spire is an absolute bop!
Thanks
