Really nice job! Super well polished in all respects, pretty great art and music, and the gameplay is pretty chunky and satisfying, especially when you land the reload, lol.

It might very well be a skill issue, because I didn't see many people complaining about it, but the second boss kicked my ass something fierce, and felt pretty unfair at times. There could be some pattern I wasn't seeing, but once things decide to spawn under you, there's just about no reaction time to avoid damage, even while dashing. I was also frequently put in no-win situations, where there's bullets forcing you a certain direction and a wall of spikes on the only safe zone, and without any defensive capabilities other than moving left and right, you just have to eat it. Still a very fun time and I can see myself coming back to it.

Developer(+1)

Don't worry, we really didn't have time to refine the "spikes" to make them more predictable, that's something we need to improve. Also, the second boss does have a long and intense intermediate phase, which we will also adjust! Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and for taking the time to play our game

wow i amazed . it was so fun to play . The boss designs and arts was super outstanding . there was just one thing left and that was hit feedback to player and bosses. overall its a great game

Nice!! Great designs and ambientation, and music fits perfectly too! Some more feedback for doing damage - taking damage would be great, but solid entry! Good job!

I love the visuals of the game and the boss designs were really well done! I died a few times but not too many, which is a perfect challenge! Controls were simple and easy to understand, music was great and each boss had something unique to its fight to keep it interesting. The reload mechanic was also a cool and unique touch. For some critique, it was quite hard to see when you got hurt. There is a sound but it is very quiet, and some more screen shake or a red flash would really make you feel what happened. The spikes coming from the ground, or rather the dirt particles, were really hard to see while focusing on bullets flying around you or the boss. I think that could be made a little more clear as well. Although after a few tries, I started focusing more and more on the edges of the arena rather than the middle where the boss was, so maybe that is not such a big deal. Either way, fantastic work this was a very well done game and I beat all the bosses, it was fun!

You're absolutely right, we should add more effects when taking damage. Thank you for trying our game!!

This is a really polished and well made game! The bosses were challenging but for the most part felt fair. The circular arena mechanic is a neat idea, the rotational movement is smooth and responsive. I like the hiveblood-esque hp regen system, and the artwork is quite nice as well.

Well done, rock and stone!

Visual and sound effects are on target and I really liked the welcoming section of the game but I'm not gonna lie somehow I get the feeling of Luke Muscat's Feed The Deep game and for the humanoid animations on the corners seems like the Doctor Eggman from Sonic is looking at me. Good job by the way.

Really liked the art work.  The background music was fun as well.  Overall, the mechanics were fun, the bosses were a bit too simple though.  That said it was really impressive how polished the art was.  Great work!

Developer

Many people complain about the difficulty, but you're not the only one mentioning that the bosses feel too easy. In the future, we should balance the difficulty more smoothly so that everyone can enjoy the game in their own way. Thank you so much for your feedback!!

Really great execution on the theme! the Art was great and the music fit the theme really well. The bosses were challenging, like really challenging took me a few tries to get past boss 1.

I'm not very prone to motion sickness but I got a tiny taste of it from this game, I think a few things could really help with that.

1. having a really beefy crosshair would help with where your mouse is and let your players enter flow state easier. you could also replace the crosshair with a laser that points from your tank to your mouse location. the laser one would also help with know where exactly your tank is, as there is alot of varies projectiles and ground attacks to focus on.
2. the reload UI, I think should moves to where our crosshair/mouse is instead of on the tank. having to look back and forth made it really stressful. eventually I got the timing down so I'm grateful for that :)

had a lot of fun playing the game, your team did an excellent job on all fronts.

Developer

These are really great ideas, especially the one with the laser. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to implement all the ideas to reduce motion sickness, and that’s something we should work on. Thank you so much for your detailed feedback—it means a lot to us!!

So beautiful. Did you do all the art yourself!

Also very good concept.

Come and rate my game when you have time.

Really cool game! Game feels intuitive to play and the amount of content is awesome, just generally polished. I love difficult games, but sometimes this one is downright unfair but that's probably a skill issue. This is a submission you guys should take pride in!

A highly polished game! The art style is fantastic, and the gameplay really fits the spin theme. The boss design is very intuitive; for the first boss, it’s clear right away that you need to target its eyes (which are also rotating open, haha).

However, the tank seems to have a hard time dodging enemy bullets—mostly, I can only barely avoid them by rotating frequently. Maybe I’m just too noob ;-)

Anyway, it's an impressive game, and I’m looking forward to more levels in the future!

super challenging game that looks really good. I wish some of the hud stuff was closer to the character since that's where I'm looking. Especially the dash bar or the health bar. Overall very well made and pretty well polished as well including the sounds!

The game's art style is incredible! It's consistently great from the UI to the bosses to the attacks.

Amazing art and animations with a great level of polish! The music had me bopping the whole way through. It took a moment to get used to the gameplay, but once you’re in, you’re in. Absolutely loved it!

I really liked the art and animations!

Moving around the circle feels good and gets more frenetic as you go, which I loved c:

I enjoyed it a lot! It gave me that "One more try" factor every time I died haha

The art in this game is really great, I loved it! The game itself is also very fun. I really liked the reload system and the different boss phases. Some phases take too long, but aside from that, the game feels very complete and great!

Submitted(+1)

A very solid and polished game .. Battles feel sometimes a bit too long some phases could be shorter adding momentum to fight.. but for sure they were enjoyable fights with good attack patterns

I'm bad at ze game and died on the death throes of the colony once and never made it there again. Fun aspect undeniable as I kept trying despite the constant failures, but I must speak of these 4 faces on your screen and what they make me feel, and just how much UI matters.

You could very well just have a clock, a bullet and HP to show what those things are, but through these faces you tell a story (or you can say I'm insane and construct it on my own but one thing doesnt deny the other) and I love the game simply from looking at the screen.

In Gold Dwarf I see War & Peace's Balaga, he's not in this journey for money or glory, he only accepts payment every so often even, he just does it for the love of the game, to get to shoot every so often.

In Blue Dwarf there's a veteran that's done this for 500 years at least, so he finds these horrors and is unphased, they might strike him, but he just gets jumpscared for a moment and chills again. An absolute tank, something could pierce through him into the driver's seat, and he'd just shrug it off and say he's been through worse, but is too senile to remember what it was. (When they're changing back in the lockers room they see he really is riddled with wounds and know he isnt lying, its really all just nothing to him at this point)

Green Dwarf is a family man that returns home at 5:00 PM. He is never late, because the wife and kids get sad if he's late, thinking the worse may have happened.  (Voted most likely to die midgame and be replaced by his son)

And you're gonna tell me the fourth face is just the boss symbol, but it's much more interesting to think of it as the leader of the pack, a cosmic horror ghost that is seeking to eliminate these horrors for nefarious mysterious reasons. He can see the monster's lifeforce and is telling it to the dwarves. He doesn't exist outside their tank, so they never see him in their daily lives, but he can call them telepathically when he detects monster activity and they just assemble for another day at the job (like a cthulhu zordon).

Give them a show or a webcomic, I love it.

Developer

Thanks for the interesting feedback! It was fun to read :) And you almost got it right. The characters (they’re supposed to be dwarves) actually have their own lore, which in some places aligns with what you wrote. We originally wanted them to be more interactive—talking to each other and changing expressions based on the player’s actions or the battlefield situation—but we ran out of time. So, we’ve pushed that idea to future updates after the game jam.

P.S. The green dwarf’s prototype is the commander from Deep Rock Galactic ;)

Submitted(+1)

Talking to each other I think could be tricky (would suggest taking your eyes off the battle on the center stage to read a bit, which could break concentration and all, but not reading it would also feel like a loss of content, so the player comes out feeling like they're losing something either way) but making faces in response is great. For interactions, I prefer it when it's between missions, or just having a "FILES" option in the main menu or title screen that lets me read/watch/listen to conversations, facts and such information.

Will be looking forward to seeing more of these little guys!

Really nice job!

The level of details, the art style, everything is on really proffesional level.

I like that its a true boss rush.

I like the boss design, where we are punishing self and the boss only provoke to it. Its really lovely trick.

The main issue its with the pacing, where sometimes we have to wait for example 10 second without possibility to do anything. Phases where we should focus on dodge and survive could be fun, but over all in your boss design, we can simply spend this time in safe spot. So much time we got punished for take a effort, such as when we go through the waves of projectiles to move to the eye on the opposite site of the boss, only to shows that the boss close this eye without taking any hit.

Over all my score is really high, and GJ!

Hands down, the best game we've played in this JAM so far. 30/30 Stars. The detail of the tank having the same firerate speed as the drums is crazy. Exceptional art. The bosses are gradually becoming harder and are easy to learn. You really deserve to win a prize for that piece of art.
