I really liked the voiceover and the worldbuilding you develop in this short experience! Initially had trouble with not being able to turn around, consequently spending an embarrassing amount of time trying to fit the baby portrait into the keyhole, but the alt+tab suggestion helped!

Developer

All the narrative aspects were mystify's ideas. He deserves so much more credit than what he's getting right now.

Aside from that I'm glad you enjoyed our game! (I'm glad alt tab helped and that you went back to play our game)

I really really like the voiceover/narrator speaking. I was also planning to add something like that into our game, just didn't find time. It reminds me of "the stanley parable" super great game, and the torch mechanics of increasing and shrinking objects kind of reminded me in a sense of portal games and also gmod 🤣. I do love the menu screen, and how it functions with the animations, the style and contrast fits well together. I honestly have no negative comments about it, I just wish I could play longer!

Developer

we did draw alot of inspo from portal, so I'm glad that's easy to spot.

Sidenote we are working on more levels but we won't be developing more of the game until we all recover from the game jam blues.

I'm glad you enjoyed our game!

It's clear that this game is really well made. When I first opened the menu, I gasped and thought, holy cow this is going to be great, and it was (for the most part). The art, music, voice acting and gameplay all held up. The only issues I ran into was that sometimes things would just get lodged in the wall (3 paintings did this to me tbh) and (sorry if this sounds selfish) its too short. It's that good that I want more dang it

Developer(+1)

I appreciate the bug report for the paintings. We're working on fixing that right now, but it seems to be a collider issue. (maybe it's a simple fix, we'll see).

Aside from that we're super happy that you enjoyed our game. This level of polish wasn't really possible without our art, audio and programming teams. They honestly don't get enough credit. They absolutely killed their assignments.

I really like the vibes and the voice commenting. It really reminds me of Superliminal! :)

Developer(+1)

We aimed to have something that's similar to superliminal's narrative style so it's nice to see that paid off.

I'm glad you enjoyed playing our game!

Submitted(+2)

Interesting demo. It's like if portal got a shrink ray instead of a portal gun.

Would like to see more levels using the mechanic

Developer

we're glad you liked the game!

We did draw alot of inspo from portal, superliminal and gravity falls so it's nice that some of that influence is easy to spot.

Really nice game. The narrator was very amusing.

I found the whole thing to be very well produced, especially for a 3D jam game. From the menu screen onward it was very clear a lot of work went into this. The core mechanics at play were easy to grasp and effective, very portal inspired which lets be honest is never a bad thing. The puzzles themselves were a bit on the simple side but they operated as a great showcase for what your team was going for. I also want to commend that there was a good sense of space despite the fact that these were obviously just rooms, the sound effects made me understand where these rooms were. As far as feedback goes, yeah only would have liked to see some more challenging puzzles but its a jam game and this is impressive.

Nice work!

Developer

It took us a while to get it right so we're super happy you enjoyed it!

As for more content, it's coming sooner or later. The team is actually fully on board to add more content into the game. We just need to rest a little, since a lot of us are feeling the post game jam blues.

Submitted(+2)

This was a very interesting showcase.  like the concept and the mechanics were simple to understand. I did thik I had soft-locked myself at one point because I moved forward withut picking up the lazer but fortunately I stll had it in the next level although it took me a little white to figure out that I could swap between using it and carrying things.
It was quite difficult to see where I was going while holding bigger objects, and your settings page didn't see to do anything. Other than that is was enjoyable and had some nice polish, well done.

Developer

I'm really happy you enjoyed our game, though the size/ visibility issue we will try and fix.  Thanks for playing our game!

Submitted(+1)

The voice was funny and felt like it could have been included in an "official" game.
Would have loved to explore a bit more of the mechanics, but jam deadline cuts short everything, I know :P

Developer

The va find was so good. I feel like it made our game a lot better. ALSOO you can experience more of the mechanics once we add more content. (we're trying to add more but we have to wait until all of our devs are fully recovered from the gam jam)

Aside from that, Thanks for playing our game!!

Submitted(+1)

Some aspects of the game are quite polished and it's quite impressive what you've done for the given time. The voice acting is top-notch!

Developer

It took us a while for us to get everything right. I'm glad you're impressed by the game!!

Submitted(+1)

The style is pretty sweet, it stands out greatly! A little short, but makes me excited on whats to come next!

The game did not grab my mouses focus though, which made me only able to look around a 45 degree cone, unable to look back at all. Made it a little difficult to play (looking at you cube on the shelf)

Developer(+2)

Hey! This is sadly a known bug with WebGL. If you tab out and click on the game again, Itch will lock your cursor. We're really glad you liked the style and can't wait to show off what is coming next!

Developer(+1)

Our artists really do deserve ALOTTT more credit than what they get right now. If you want you can go check out their work (most of them are linked in the itch page). Also yea webgl doesn't like our game for some reason, but the fix on the itch page should make it smoother for you to play.

(1 edit) (+1)

Nah this game is pretty neat. The narrative guy gives me this feeling of being so care-free and creepy at the same time? 😅 I would love if we could meet him at some point. I dunno, could be just me but I feel this could also do well if applied some kind of ..."detective theming" to it? but overall, I real enjoyed it. Took no time to complete, waiting for the next levels when available 💯

Edit: I gotta learn how you guys did those Settings UI animations, those were top notch 🤩

Developer

The UI menu animations were made by nitro so all props go to him. Aside from that maybe we'll let ya'll meet him, you'll have to stay tuned to figure out if that's gonna be the case or not.

I am super happy you got to enjoy our game though!!!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I'm at the same case as the last guy :/
A very stylish game, tho
I've clicked the settings just to check it out, and got absolutely stunned by the anumations you guys made just for the settings menu

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

you are supposed to pick up the flashlight, though I'm glad you liked our menu animations. It tooks us a while to get them just right.

If you need help beating a level I can try my best to help you through an unexpected bugs.

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Hey, NP!
I tried again and this time I got the flashlight!

Plus, I've clicked the credits at the menu and there another crazy awesome animation 😵‍💫
what menu is that my dude

Developer(+1)

heck yea, I'm glad you got to try it!

Developer(+2)

Glad you like them ❤️. UI stocks shall rise!

Voice acting and art is cool but i tbh i couldnt get passed the second level, was I supposed to have the gun? I took everything off the walls but could find anything, there was a cube and i tried slotting it in the hole but it didn't fit, so where is the gun? I feel bad getting stuck so early, I really want to experience what the game has to offer so pls help me out a little

Developer

Yes you were supposed to have the gun. We didn't have that much time but that's an edge case. Aside from that I'm glad you enjoyed our art and va stuff.

Submitted(+1)

love the neo-noir look, especially in the menus! everyone here is mentioning portal, which im sure is an inspiration, but it also really reminded me of superliminal. the voice acting and music add a nice atmosphere to the experience. unfortunately, i experienced a lot of bugs with the camera but that is very fair for a jam project. would be fun to see it expanded and polished up!

Developer

The bugs were webgl related sorry about those. Aside from that I'm glad you enjoyed our game!

The team absolutely killed it in my opinion. Art deco is so hard to pull off but they managed to do it in such a short time span.

Submitted(+1)

Would've liked more levels for sure. Great mechanics and style

Developer

Lucky for you were planning on making more! Just keep us in a collection and we'll keep updating the game. Aside from that I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

Love the idea of a train as the setting for a set of connected puzzle levels like this. The polish on this experience given the time frame is insane. Voice acting, music and sound design are all great. If ya'll do make more I can't wait to see it.

Developer

We are planning to do more! I'm glad you enjoyed our game.

The polish took forever(and a couple of us stayed up doing it )so hearing you say it's good makes all of our days.

Submitted(+1)

Excellent Art-Deco style! You did a good job with that.

Developer

That's all because of our massive team of artists, they came up with it and absolutely killed it. I'm glad you had fun playing our game.

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Nice voice acting and funny dialogue. I see the potential of a fully fleshed game with the scaling mechanics in mind.

Developer

That's the plan! It's gonna take a second though since most of our team is in the middle of game jam blues. I'm glad you had fun though!

If you're wanting to see more add the game to your collections.

Submitted(+1)

Okay, I need to know the lore of the DoCS--would absolutely play a full length version of this.  The portal inspiration is evident.  I also loved the train sound effects between levels and all the clicks of the flashlight--I wanted to play with every object in the room.  I'm imagining more 3D puzzles where I can make stairs out of objects or something or perhaps use objects for non-original purposes (like maybe, I shrink a closed umbrella to press a reset button on a device like it's a toothpick).  Very nicely done!

Developer(+1)

We're looking to make way more puzzles involving more than just cubes so we'll see but I'm glad you enjoyed our game!

We were also planning lore details kind of like portal but we ran out of time, so we're going to be add that post game jam.

Stay tuned!

Super game guys! loved the mechanics. The voice acting was great too

Developer

I appreciate you playing our game, our va absolutely killed his role. honestly dude needs more credit.
