Hi! I played through your game on stream. You can watch the video & feedback here (timestamped):

(In case iframe does not work: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2338974545?t=01h59m15s )

Great art & sound. The hard reset on death combined with the invisible walls got a bit frustrating however so I didn’t finish the game unfortunately. The combat could be improved too in terms of visibility and responsiveness. But really good entry overall!

Just a note, web export didn’t work for me, the loading was stuck at 0%. Downloaded version worked. (That was like 40 minutes earlier in the stream than linked above, I got sidetracked for a while)

Looks and sounds great! The atmosphere was really nice and made exploration enjoyable!

The game vibe from the art, and music is cool. I would agree with the others stated here that it is hard to see sometimes when in the wilderness in movement or combat. Felt like I was get stuck when I should be able to move, or attacking but couldn't tell which side I'm attacking.

Developer

yea there was a bug that had invisible rocks the moment we uploaded the game to here. I'm not sure what caused the problem honestly

The art, music, and atmosphere are so well done! The only awkward thing with the art is the sword swing animation blends in with the snow but other than that it all looks so good. Would love to see this expanded on more. The collision boxes with trees make it a bit awkward and I think the y-sort is off on them because sometimes the player sprite would be behind them and then in front.

The art of the game is stunning especially the cover art, it immidietly grabs your attention. The music and the idea are great aswell. I had a bit of issue with the fighting and movment. I seem to get stuck in random places of the map and can't walk without any visible barrier. If the swing animation had a different color instead of white (that blends with the snow) it might have helped a bit.

Still good job!

Thanks! I'll take that into consideration for the VFX coloring next time for sure.

The music is very good and the atmosphere is great. For me, you also nailed the theme.

The game has good assets and graphics, but the menus and some other bits didn't scale properly, which I think hinders the experience a little. I also didn't get far because of the combat. The controls felt a bit too clunky for me.

That said, you all did a good job :)

Great art and music, and it felt like "oh, I want to play a game in this universe"! The game mechanics, though, are a bit clunky, with enemy pushback a bit too unpredictable and characters getting stuck on some invisible pixels or something. But I can see how it can be turned into a great game with slight bug fixing and more content!

There is potential. I had also the bug for collissions and i was bothered also for the enemy kickback. The atmosphere is nice and I liked the scifi theme.

I didn't get far in this game because I immediately got trapped between a tree and a monster and couldn't do anything anymore haha XD I think the game is still a bit buggy in places which detracts from the experience.

From what I have seen though I think it's a cool concept, I really enjoy the vibe and worldbuilding and the music. When I first started it up I thought our mate there was an enemy, an I think it's really cool to explore a more unique species in this setting. The audio went really nicely with it.

The controls and UI just felt a bit janky overall. I don't think the freeze icon fits with the pixel art, and the text was so large on screen that reading it in a pixel font was incredibly difficult and draining.  Attacking stops all movement, which also feels a bit unintuitive.

I think the idea is great though, it would be great to see it more polished up!

I love these kinds of stories and settings, I think you have a very unique entry here!

The only thing that bothered me a bit was that the controls seemed a bit stuck, sometimes I collided with objects that were supposed to be behind me, or in front of me. Maybe it's an issue with the 2.5d perspective?

That said, congrats on the game, there are a lot of mechanics implemented for such a short jam!

Developer

thanks for the feedback, the stuck issue is that the rocks were not visible in recent release. so the collisions were still there but you could not see the rocks sadly. couldnt fix until after jam as its not a game breaking bug.

Very good art style! The story is unique, the music fits in the atmosphere and the gameplay it's pretty nice! Overall a very good game!

Really nice pixelart and animations, as well as music and sfx. The gameplay loop was interesting and I enjoyed the base-camp and wilderness set up you had going on. I felt that the movement was a bit clunky at times and that the sprites moved weirdly in relation to the camera, but other than that impressive work :D

Cool graphics and audio.

Good atmosphere. I liked the theme. I got stuck quite often on bushes i think.

I was stunned by the atmosphere when I first launched the game. I wish crafting batteries could be done in a more convenient way. I had a lot of fun unfreezing the first big fella in the north region of the map but the character kept getting stuck randomly for no apparent reason which is why I stopped playing there. Overall, really nice game.

Really charming visual style, nice audio, and the story is nice. I think the core gameplay loop is fun, even if the combat could use some tweaking; I did run into collision issues in the environment at times. Overall though, this was well done.

Great art great story whats not to love?

The mechanics were interesting in that I needed to craft batteries to keep the Old One alive. I did the best I could on the combat system but I did keep dying due to some invisible collisions in the open world. However, I did get enough batteries to craft blue batteries!

I do wish the text was more readable or at least contrasted, I kept accidentally reading batteries as "berries"

I love the atmosphere of the game, good job really fun game!

The look and feel of this is great, vibrant world building that feels so authentic, almost really "cold" down your neck. I would love to know how the game ends, but sadly have to admit that I got frustrated with the many enemies and didn't finish, but still wanted to leave you guys a thumbs up!
