My experience:
lol thanks, the play by play is actually very helpful for feedback (besides being whimsy and fun).
Really cool game. I liked the vibe of the game a lot and the monster scared me pretty good the first time it showed up. The art looks great and I think the feeding the fire mechanic works really well with trying to balance that and explore to get the fireflies with your torch. I found it pretty difficult I think I won on my 4th run by just running around and getting all the fireflies and ignoring the fire completely lol. Great work on this it's super cool!
Thanks for playing, I watched the stream too and it’s very helpful to see it play out like that thanks so much for doing that! Running around and grabbing the fireflies has definitely always been an issue to balance out and while is the easier difficulties it’s definitely possible, in the harder ones (hard is my preferred) it’s definitely a worse strategy (although definitely MUCH harder to balance feeding the fire).
Wow, great foundation of a game, good atmosphere, creepy monster to avoid, all around fantastic! I thought it was pretty tough, then I went back to the main menu and saw there are two harder difficulties?? I can't imagine, but well done regardless
Thanks for playing! I wanted to add an easy mode in case anyone was struggling and wanted to add a harder mode too, as the dev I found the game way too easy. Then hard was too easy for me so I added deadly and that one is VERY challenging, I’ve only beaten it once and if anyone else manages to do so as well they deserve a prize.
Love the mood and style of this game. The survival is fun and pretty scary. Keeping the fire alive was tough, I think maybe I was over-using torches? Fun game though, great job!
Over-using torches? There is no such thing. I love torches
Great game! The atmosphere was really good. The enemies felt dangerous and the fire sound effect was a good addition, I'll definitly spread the light :)
The sounds in this game is amazing. You did very well. While at the fire it felt cozy / calm and safe. Outside was terrifying and scary! Well done! :D
Fun little spooky game! Beat it on both easy and normal. Torch ran out every time I went out near the edge of the map to get the flies but the light wand thingies saved me many times. Would be cool to see this develop into a survival farming horror type of game. Good game and well made mechanics. Nice work!

I haven’t considered the farming route but that actually sounds very interesting, I might consider that. Thanks for playing!
So, when I moved with WASD, I saw that the player walks a bit more seconds than it was supposed to, since you are using Unity, I am guessing you are using the default input system, and used Input.GetKey and now Input.GetKeyRaw, if i'm not mistaken with the names.
Input.GetKeyRaw, basically is Input.GetKey, but with no smoothness. Input.GetKey it smooths the result, this means that if you press a key, it will take a while to get at 1. But the raw version, basically already gets to 1, no delay.
But still, very coolio game!
I don’t remember whether I used GetAxis or GetAxisRaw but I do remember that the move direction is Normalized, meaning that it shouldn’t have a huge effect either way. I think the main issue may be that the players walk animation needs to finish before it can stop. Just because without that, the players rotation would snap back and that wouldn’t look very good. There’s probably a bit of maintained velocity but since the controls don’t need to be precise for anything I think it may be mostly fine. I might look into different ways to do the animation, thanks for playing and giving feedback.
I really liked the visual and mechanics of the game)
This is a fun game. Would keep playing if there weren't another 180 games for me to play and rate.
Lol, are you perchance (also) a little OCD?
Might be a little bit. lol
Love the game and how you are pressed to find more fire wood!! Looking forward to seeing what you do next with this!!
Awesome little game. Music sets the mood perfectly
Very interesting idea. The atmosphere and music were really great. Gameplay was simple, but effective.
Thanks for playing! Really happy with how the music turned out, it's really simple but might be my favorite I've made for one of my games.
I LOVED the art, very nice environment , very scary when time is running out, couldnt gather how to collect the wood controls but i could tell, if i knew how to play it, it would be a 10!
Trying pressing ’info’ in the main menu (:
ok!
done it, i love your game!
Glad you enjoyed!
Super cool! Great to see your work again Halfsmore! Very cool and spooky vibe, would definitely like to see more of this!
Got pulled into the environment. This game was the perfect conceptual size. had a lot of fun
really fun + love the atmosphere
Enjoyed your Game!
I had such a blast playing your game! The whole concept is so creative, and the atmosphere really pulls you in—super immersive. Keeping the fire alive while exploring is such a cool challenge, and it kept me on edge the whole time.
The gameplay is smooth and keeps you hooked, and I loved how every little thing felt important (Enemy in Dark area). Great job creating such an engaging experience! Can’t wait to see how you build on this. Awesome work!
Thanks so much! It's really encouraging to see the positive reception so far as this game was very difficult to properly design and balance, having to consistently force the player to spend time building the fire, exploring out, and actively in danger, and I'm glad that you were engaged and satisfied by the different mechanics.
This one actually jumpscared me a couple times when I first played it
10/10
Fun, But I could just outrun the monster.
Thanks for playing! The monster starts out slow as to give the player more time to adjust and escape, but I’m working on a difficulty system which will hopefully add the level of challenge you want and should hopefully be done soon.
