Excellent job! I had so much fun with this :)
Such an awesome take on the puzzle platformer genre. One of my favorite entries!
๐
This is one of the best games in this jam. I've never seen a game like this, the idea of switching blocks, but being able to move inside these blocks is amazing. Good Job!
Thank you so much ๐
This is so awesome. The concept works so well and the variety shapes can be used for so many different things! In future levels you could even swap some of the shapes for even more possibilities.
I'm guessing it's probably to save dev time, but I really liked the "one big level" approach which let the player go their own non-linear path. I say keep it like that, you can still have "levels" like a normal puzzle game but have each level contain a few coins that you can pick in whatever order you'd like.
Only critique I have on the mechanics is that it did feel a bit janky when you were inbetween tiles, one puzzle could be solved by just spamming and hoping it lines up instead of doing the proper approach. But at the same time I like the fluidity of the movement, a grid based one maybe wouldn't feel as good. I guess you could make it so that the player smoothly "snaps" when you try to shapeshift, but otherwise have the movement as fluid as it is now.
Thanks for the advice!
This was such a cool mechanic! It was fun navigating the levels and trying to get all the coins shifting my block shapes around. I managed to get 9/10 coins, but the one in the top right I couldn't manage to get. Great work on this it's very cool!
Thank you!
Brainfart is showing the solution to the coin in the top right in this video at the following timestamp:
Ah I feel like an idiot for not figuring that out lol it was so simple.
This is amazing! Great mechanics, super fun!
Thank you! ๐
Very unique idea and GREAT puzzles. Need more )
Working on it ๐
Very fun puzzles, and very unique concept for a platformer! I also love the art style, it's simple and cute. The gameplay kinda reminds me of some odd mobile games I would find on the app store. Not a bad thing, though. Gameplay mechanics were implemented beautifully. Not much else to say, you killed it!
Haha nice, I also think this game has potential to be an odd mobile game ๐
Very nice idea!
But dat music killing me xD
Thank you thank you! What type of music would you recommend for this type of game? I added the music last minute, maybe that was a bad decision ๐
I'm certainly not an expert in music and this is my subjective opinion. Something that stands out too much, something that would just be in the background. Need to look at examples of some puzzle platformer games
Thank you, maybe I will ping you on discord to verify the music I choose next round ๐
Very GOOD

this is very well thought and implemented love the idea of fitting shapes to progress through out the levels and the level design is well made
i like it alot!
no i didnt played this for 10 minutes straight bcs of figuring out what shapes i should use to get a single coin where apparently i only need to use the T shape 2 times to get the coinHaha, you made me laugh with your comment. I tried to push the shapes I had as far as possible in terms of level design as I could. Every puzzle relies on different shapes and a different technique it was a lot of fun to create the levels.
very exciting mechanics. I hope to see the sequel!)
Me too! ๐
The shape changing and face moving mechanics were brilliant and fun! Great game!

Such a unique and interesting game idea! The jump felt really bad though, probably because of the lack of coyote time and because you couldn't even go up 1 tile, making it near useless. Sometimes it felt really hard to line up the shape right, maybe if they're close enough the shapes you turn into automatically snap into a grid so that you don't have to get them perfect. I think this would be really awesome as a metroidvania (metroidbrainia?) type game where you have to find new shapes to access different areas. I also kind of wish there was the ability to move my face without moving the shape (or needing a wall), especially since the WASD keys weren't used at all. Well done!
Yes, I should remove the jump. I thought it was funny since it is basically useless/redundant. I think I will make the game grid based in the next round or snapping the shapes also sounds like a good idea.
Amazing that you think this should be a metroidvania! That was my exact idea. I think you can do so much cool stuff with this idea, a lot of cool backtracking should be possible based on new shapes you unlock.
> I also kind of wish there was the ability to move my face without moving the shape (or needing a wall), especially since the WASD keys weren't used at all
This is very much intentional, this limits the player and makes the game more difficult. I don't think I will add this ๐.
Very clever. I think the game could benefit from implementing coyote time and jump buffering. That or you could remove the ability to jump and make the player rely purely on the shape-shifting and face moving mechanics.
Yeah, I think you are right, I already had the jump mechanic for an earlier prototype and I decided not to remove it since I thought it was funny to keep it, since the jump is useless. I think it is indeed better to focus.
I was actually amazed on how smooth the movement and shape shifting were. A fantastic game overall!

Best game ever

I loved this puzzle game. First, great tutorial system. Second, clever and original mechanics. Easy to learn and fun to play. This is a winner!
Agreed! Such an elegant mechanic and seamless transition from tutorial to main game! Very creative usage of shapes and level design combinations!
Thank you, I think I can do even more interesting level design with more shapes, let's hope the theme for the next round is a bit suitable.
Thank you thank you, organic tutorials are the best, always better to keep things simple and have the player learn by playing, I will continue doing this in the next rounds
Great game. would love to play more levels weather during or after this jam! just nailed it...
Thanks for the amazing comment. Don't worry I will make sure you will get to play more levels.
Very creative idea and some very cool puzzle design. The gaps feel a little bit too tight. I think it is great for a puzzle game, but I get stuck easily trying to move the face, especially when trying to move the face down when I am in T shape. It might be better to make the movement grid-based for the tight puzzle design and avoid the stucking issue. Amazing game - can't wait to see what you make in round 2.
Thanks for playing and for leaving a comment! I think changing to a grid-based movement sounds like a good idea. It will definitely make the game more a puzzle game but I think that is a good direction to go into anyway. I am excited for the next round.
